Gladstone Tour de Chaplain
A bike ride from Many Peaks to Yarwun
is to be held on the Saturday, 3rd of August, 2019. Be one of the 100 riders who will start at the Many Peaks park; ride through the picturesque Boyne Valley; over the historic Calliope River Bridge and onto Yarwun State School to complete the 100k journey. There’s also the 30km option starting from Calliope and joining the others at the Yarwun School finish line.
The tour de chaplain is a community ride that will help raise awareness and funds for School Chaplaincy in our local district. There are currently 10 Chaplains who need our support to keep them working across 16 State Schools in our district.

Online registration can be as an individual or get your mates together to form a team. To enter,each rider will need to donate/fund raise a minimum of $100, which is tax deductible. If you aren’t a rider, you can support the riders as individuals, teams or the Tour as a whole. Just go to the links to the left of the page.
All riders will receive complementary riders bandana as well as a rider’s bag filled with goodies to commemorate the ride. Food and drinks en route at drink stops and also at the finish line.
There will be a Trophy awarded to the Team and Individual who raises the highest amount. This is a free pace ride for adults and under 18’s out of school. Students wishing to participate will need to ride with a parent or school supervision ratio 5:1.

- Rider clicks the Register button on the website (or social media, etc).
- Rider completes the EventsAir registration process.
- Rider clicks “Start Fundraising” button at the end of the registration process.
- Rider completes everydayhero registration process (they only need to provide a few details, their photo and the fundraising target they want to shoot for).
- Rider can then add themselves to a team (button in the right hand column of their everydayhero supporter page).
- Rider can then share their page via social media and email.
30km Option for Beginners
This part of the ride starts from the lunch stop at Calliope at approximately 11.30 a.m.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a supervisory adult rider.
A donation of at least $50 required.
Accommodation
For those riders and families interested in staying the night before – meals, accommodation or camping spots can be booked at the Grand Hotel, Many Peaks by phoning 4974 1186. The Discovery Centre at Ubobo also has accommodation and camping available by phoning 49741212 or 49741240. Join in the fun!
Start & End Times
On the day, riders will meet at the Many Peaks park at 8am for a safety briefing. This year we’ll be having a STAGGERED START – with the first group at 8.30 and the second at 8.40am. This is to relieve congestion for cyclists and road safety. All riders must be finished by 1.45pm, as presentations will commence at 2.00pm.
Transport
Riders will need to organize their own transport to Many Peaks and home from Yarwun. However, there will be a bus to take riders and their bikes out to Many Peaks for the start, and then back to Gladstone at the end of the ride, with a small cost of $5/passenger. The bus meeting point is at BUNNINGS CARPARK AT 6.00AM. These must be pre-arranged for numbers.

Support
Vehicles with warning lights and trailers will provide on-road support for riders as they set their own pace along sealed bitumen roads throughout their ride of discovery through farming communities and across sparkling fresh water creeks. Lunch and drinks will also be provided for riders along the way.

The event manager reserves the right to postpone the ride in the event of unfavorable weather conditions.
